I've been hearing about how great this guy is, so I'd like to start getting into his music. Where should I start?

why don't you try his greatest hits album or another good choice would be "Decade"...

if you really want to know what albums he made (and trust me there are plenty..:-) have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Young_discography

Enjoy..:-)

The final criminal CD i offered develop into metallic Church's Masterpeace. that's sturdy so far, wonderful guitars and drumming yet enable down by the lead singers vocals yet I nonetheless reccomend it!!! I definitely have unhappy information for you in spite of the undeniable fact that as i'm going to be downloading slightly from now on reason I definitely have offered a honest few cd's these days & i only won't be able to locate the money for anymore. If I do like them i'm going to ultimately purchase the product. MQ: before metallic Church it develop into alluring South's Blue Is the colour. It develop right into a cd I had continually wanted and it develop into going affordable on EBay so i'm happy I did reason it is only artwork in lyrical songwriting. BQ: i'm purely attentive to Falkenbach & Absu yet the two are wonderful bands!!!

He's very prolific and has gone through lots of different "phases" so that's a hard question to answer. For early acoustic Neil Young, try "Harvest" and "Comes a Time." The rock classic is "Rust Never Sleeps." He's come full circle and his recent "Harvest Moon" is much like his vintage stuff.
p.s. Also listen to some Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young!

Wow, Neil has so many different CD's from CSN&Y to Buffalo Springfield and then all his work with Crazy Horse. I would start with "After the Gold Rush" and "Harvest"

DECADE: I think from late 60's to late 70's not a bad song in the lot. Misses alot of stuff he has done in the 80's till now but still has him with a lot of different bands.

My favourite Neil Young album is 'Ragged Glory' on which he plays with his original backing band, Crazy Horse. They really rock out.

Unplugged. Let me warn you, Neil is an acquired taste. I absolutely love him, but I've been listening to him for decades.
