Not all service must be military, in fact most service would be other types.

You see it as a draft? Maybe, but dont the vices outway the virtues? If EVERYONE had to serve, then it would cross all classes and give everyone a sense of commonality, furthering nationalism.

I don't! Slavery was outlawed long ago...no reason to bring it back. It's bad enough they take half of what we earn on our labor already...now they want actual labor?! Screw that! The government's supposed to be serving us...not us them.

Why not just come out and say what it really is - a draft.

Unless the U.S. was going to be under direct attack by a foreign power I don't think people would support a military draft.
