You see, i am going to go to college next year. from all the shootings there's been, especially for Virginia Tech, i am scared about innocent students' safety and my own. i am not so much scared that i would not want to go to college but enough to scare me quite a bit! I cannot afford to NOT go to college so i have to get over my fear! But people, please wish me and every college student luck or pray for us. I already told my mother that if something happens to me, i dont want my body to be buried!!! I want my body to be creamated. i am not paranoid but i am just letting my parents know what i want if i die(under any circumstance). I dont want to die, but i am scared that the same thing can happen to me as the students in Virginia Tech. after all, i live in California and it can be very dangerous here too.

You will be Ok, I love green, but good luck anyway. I hope you do well and all your dreams come true. Death comes to us all but it's not something we need to dwell on. I was in Manchester before the IRA bombed The Arndale Centre and I used to travel between Yorkshire and Sussex, crossing London by tube, shortly before tube stations became a target for terrorists. I've been assaulted and thought I was going to die when some stoned guy jumped out of a car and started
pounding me. Until the moment when you know you will die for certain, you should focus all your thoughts on living. There are tragedies like the one that has just taken place, and the bombs in Baghdad and so on and innocent people die and there is nothing you can do about it. Only focus on making the most of your life and being the best person you can be. Take care. John/ "TOBERMORY".

Please don't over react and let events like the Virginia Tech shooting take you hostage. It will just prevent you from enjoying life to its fullest. The world *can* be a dangerous place, but for the most part it's pretty peaceful. There are millions of college students in this country. Statistically speaking, you are *much* more likely to be killed in a car wreck, an airplane crash, a train derailment, a random case of meningitis, etc. than you would be in a random shooting. I can understand your fear, but don't let that paralyze you. There are many things you will miss if you take no chances in your life.

As tragic as the shootings at Virginia Tech were, shootings like this are not the norm, I understand your fears, but do not let them rule your life.
The way i look at it you could be knocked over crossing the road tomorrow, so you need to live your life to the full every day. Take notice of your fears as they stop you taking foolish risks, but do not let them rule you.
I'm three weeks away from graduating from university and it has been such a rewarding experience. Allow yourself to enjoy it.

why should you get any special treatment? What about our soldiers, or our police and firemen? You need to grow up. Life is not fair and not always safe. You will learn that life is always a struggle to survive no matter where you are. You are safer in school than most places. You take a higher risk driving.
