I am totally a believer in the conspiracy. I think a group of 19 Islamic extremists conspiring with Al Qaeda flew planes into the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania.

There is a strong compulsion to believe in a conspiracy theory rather than believe a bloodthirsty enemy is knocking at the door.
To those who opt for conspiracy, it's because the solution to the problem is simple, just get rid of the government or the people in charge. No muss, no fuss, simple solution.
The idea that an enemy wants to kill them and destroy their way of life, particularly an insane enemy, is too scary for them to comprehend.
The conspiracy theory offers them a safety valve. They live in less fear by believing the government did it.

There should be 3 separate answers areas for politics - 1) Conspiracy Theories - this is where all the kookoo's can go. 2) Politics Attack section, where the attack hacks can write their attack hack questions (Liberal: If BUSH/CHENEY were IMPEACHED, the COUNTRY would be BETTER OFF????, or Conservative: BUSH/CHENEY: BEST PRESIDENT EVER???); and 3) The politics section, where you actually have to ask real questions, and be civil towards each other.
