Nets at six

2007-04-20 05:05:33 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 1

I think that the New Jersey Nets can beat the Toronto Raptors. The Nets have more playoff experience then the Raptors and that will be the big difference in this series.

They should! They will lose some because the Raptors are a very good team when everything is clicking, but the aren't talented enough to beat the Nets.

Definitely, the Raptors prove that international blend works during the regular season but the question is can they prove it in the postseason??? Another thing, the Raptors doesn't have a team that has playoff experience and former Air Canada Vince Carter will surely put on a show every night...
Here's my fearless forecast:
New Jersey in 5 games...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but NO!
It will definetly the Raptors who will come to play, but it will be a game that goes to 5. Out of the 5 times they met since their first game in Oct., the Raptors have won 3 of them with an average win margin of about 11 points.

Matchups:
Ford (14 ppg) vs. Kidd (13.1 ppg) This is an even match-up that should make for some exciting playmaking, but with Calderone coming off the bench and giving the defense a spark he will frusterate Kidd.
Parker (12.4 ppg) vs. Carter (25.3 ppg) Parker's D may annoy Carter, but Carter has the ability to get to the hoop even with tough D.
Humphries (3.8) vs. Jefferson (16.2 ppg) The scoring factor here at the SF position should prove too much for the Raptors defense in the 2 losses that they will take.
Bosh (22.6 ppg) vs. Collins (2.1 ppg) Like you said, the Nets have NO ANSWER for this maniac!
Nesterovic (6.2) vs. Moore (9.7 ppg) Pretty balanced game down low for the big guys, but Nesterivic has the upper hand being as experienced as he is.
Dixon will come off the bench and light it up with his 11.4 ppg. It's just too bad that Bargnani won't be back for the play-offs because of his Appendectomy surguery because he would KILL at the 3-point line!

Both teams are 36% from the 3-point line which should make for an even match-up from outside. However; the Raptors are at an advantage with their 99.2 ppg over Jersey's 97.5 ppg.

RAPTORS IN 5!!!!

Very remarkable overall performance. The Raptors did okay while Chris Bosh picked up 2 speedy fouls and went on like a 15-2 run. Calderon, Peterson and Bargnani particularly stepped up this night to the Raptor's victory. and that i don't comprehend why Vince Carter did not look to deliver it to OT and bypass it to Nachbar who isn't grasp instead.

They can and they will beat the Raptors in 6. Expect 3 double doubles in the series. 2 by kidd, 1 by vince.

They could but everyone will have to step it up. Kidd and Carter will need to play well every game and Jefferson and Moore will need to contribute to the whole effort especially since Toronto has such a deep lineup and Bargnani just got back.
