you and your girlfriend had an altercation which she was hitting slapping you and you grab her neck and wrists to get her to stop. then you leave and she calls the cops. you now have charges pressed against you (there is nothing she can do b/c it's up to the state). you have to go to jail and spend over $4000 on lawyers and bond. your gf is trying everything she can do to get the charges dropped, but there is no guarantee. you have a chance of getting kicked out of the military and failing your classes this semester b/c of this.

would you consider taking her back after this is all said and done? or would you consider the relationship to be over?

BTW-the fight started b/c they were arguing and he grabbed her and pused her up against the couch. he then got up and began calling names etc. thats when the female started to slap and hit.

No. Because she is unstable and violent, called the cops on me when I was trying to defend myself, got me arrested, has cost me my job and also four grand.

The relationship is over.

And by the way - why speak about yourself in the third person. Just cop to it.

Please listen to someone a little "older" and wiser. Been there, done that. However, being someone who knows the law very well (practically an expert on who has what rights in almost every given situtaion), I never retailiated against her. I knew that if I layed a finger on her, I would be in the wrong. I was physically attacked, and would just call the cops on her. She learned right then and there I wasn't going to accept her improper behavior. We did get back together ONLY after she straightened her behaviors out with several counceling sessions. She now is a very well adjusted "normal" happy girl who I love very much.

Well even out of anger she should have never called the cops PERIOD! To me thats no friend. I would atleast make her pay half of my expenses! I would never in a million years call the cops on my friend when i know we were both fighting. And just because men "shouldnt" hit women doesnt give any woman a right to hit a man. I think that is just some lame bullsh** She is acting like he came in and attacked her? This is no friend. I would cut it lose form her! Good Luck.

Over. First off, I am in the military, and a man for that matter. There is NO excuse for violence towards women...none! If your relationship is like this now...turn the other way while you still can. Tell noone of his identity unless it is your desire that he get hurt...especially being in the military, people don't stand for that kind of behavior.

Hell no. Any man who lays hands on a female or any female who lays hands on a man should be horsewhipped. These are the people who can't control their emotions. Animals quite frankly.
In my book...were I the guy and the girlfriend raised a hand to me that would be the end of it. I don't keep company with people of low character and who fail at controlling their emotions and actions.

its true the male in question could have used antoher tactic to avoid the blows from the female, as being in the service trains him in the wasy to protect himself without doing her harm she notified authorities with full confidence of the consequences of her actions with no regard to his future,, to my mind this relationship is well over the moment the hitting started.. no relationship should require physical or psychalogical assualt
