I think if you are as good as you say and you believe in yourself, take a chance! If your husband is willing to be a support for you even better. It's hard to find a partner who would do that. I love to dance salsa, but I have no professional training (yet) and I would love to start a club myself. I think you have a great opportunity at hand and you should take advantage of it.
Where would you open this club? Location is a very important factor to consider. What age group would you like to admit, days to open, what crowd would you like to target, only salsa dancing? As for pricing and all the logistics in opening a club, you should look for some assistance. An accountant, a planner, a promoter, the works. I might not be easy but I bet if you really want it, you could do it. Maybe I could go take some classes from you one day! :)
Leaving your job might not be the easiest thing at first, but seems like you have a supportive husband, and that in itself is a great thing.
Adelante chica y con la frente arriba! Buena Suerte! :)

It has been a long time since i have dance salsa and i haven't find a place were they actually teach salsa. Anyways I think you could do both things at the same time because school is only 5 days a week so maybe you could have your salsa dance club Sunday and Saturday anyways most people don't work on Sundays or Saturdays. Go for both of them I think i would of done the same thing.

Well how many hours a day are you going to do this? You should charge by age teens, adults, and seniors. You should have beginner classes, intermediate classes, and advanced classes I dont know how much dance instructors charge for that. People will come to your classes. I myself want to learn to salsa but I dont have any dance classes like that where I live unfortunately. You should also have a snack/beverage bar too at your club. You can make a profit that way also. I suggest you do some research. You need to find a space to rent, and a lot of other stuff. Have your hubby help you.

You know salsa is popular. But it is not possible to predict if your potentail business will be successful or not. It depends on soooo many things. I'd say, don't quit your job yet, don't open salsa dance club yet. Find some suitable floor space, teach a class there once or twice a week in the evenings, see how it goes, take it from there.
A group class usually costs anywhere from $6 to $12 per person in my area. Try and see how many people can you get.

you get some great answers. now, how about starting with personalized teaching during the weekends .. you can post your 'learn salsa ' announcements in the local classifieds (craigslist.org is the most popular classifieds and it is free to post on line).. that's just to get the feeling on the demand for salsa in your area. in the beginning you can do it in the park or some other comfy place .. i think that some people will love to get this kind of out-of-the box salsa teaching.
then, you can consider opening a studio either on your own or partnering with other dance studios.
good luck in following your passion

think think think!!
if you are gonna be happy in the end, then go ahead.
I'm a salsa teacher and I can tell you that I earn just enough and I spend everything I get.
But I'm happy cause i dance. in 4 years I will get another job but I will continue dancing. cause only dancing does not mean much in terms of money. (another fact that I spend a lot :(((( )
if you have another income (I don't know your husband or something else) and if you believe you will survive then give a try :)
