If your husband's going to be your coach, or even in the room while you're giving birth, then he should attend the classes. There is a wealth of information given at these classses, and it would definately benefit him to be educated on the whole birthing process. Not to mention the after-birth child care information that is shared in these classse... he'll surely want to know how to hold, bath, comfort, and feed the baby. Be sure to check out infant CPR/first aid classes as well.

My husband went to every class he could attend and every doctors appointment he could. He only missed 2 classes and 1 appointment at the end because they changed his work schedule and wouldn't give him that time of. When he missed my mother-in-law went with me. I think that it is important for the husband to be there for you and know what needs to be done for you. It is also good because he can feel like he is more of a part of the pregnancy.

Mine did, but the class had a number of "kids" (teen or very early 20ies soon-to-be moms) who had their mom with them instead.
If the plan is that your husband is present at the birth, he should probably be present at birthing class, it should be possible to find one that work with his and your schedule.

DEFINITELY I think they are very beneficial for the husband to have an understanding of what will happen, plus they usually have some basic child care advice & lots of tips on how to help & pamper you

Yes. If he will be in the delivery room. Which he should be! Then he needs the classes as much as you.
He is your birthing partner.

yup they sure do, everyone in my class had their husbands with them. Especially if they will be your coach. Even if not they have a lot of useful information in them that benefit the hubbys.

Yes, typically they do. Whether they plan on being your coach or not...they do. Often times they do just to know what to expect.
It's a good idea if they plan on being in the delivery room.

Why not? It's recommended. Isn't he going to be part of the birth?
