There are actually more mormons outside of the US than in it. But, yes, the Catholic church has a lot of money, however, the mormon church has spent much more statistically in foreign aid and charity work in the 300 years (est) it has been around than the Catholic Church in the same amount of years. The Mormon church also recieves what they call tithing (a tenth of it's member's income through donation) something the Catholic Church does not do. So I think the Mormons have won.

The Catholic Church is the largest land owner in the WORLD and they pay no taxes on any of it. The Mormons are basically confined to the US I believe, so their assets don't measure up near to what the Catholic Church has. Not to mention the Catholic Church has a much larger congregation of people than the Mormons. Thanks and have a nice day.

I do believe that the Catholic Church has more in assets. They have been around longer and they do not pay taxes that I know of they are deemed non-profit. Most of the assets that are movable are in the Vatican. They do not keep very much in the United States

The Catholic church has been robbing and coercing money out of followers for over 2000 years, the Mormons haven't been doing it for that long. That would leave me to believe the Catholics have a few more bucks stashed away.

Churches don't get taxed, do they?
I think that, of all churches, it's easiest to see where the money goes for both the Catholic and LDS churches.

Well, I am Catholic,
And to me the Catholic Church gives me the tools to stay in the Grace of God.
That is the most important asset.
Peace!

The Catholic church has been collecting money, gold, etc. from all over the world for centuries! I don't think there is any question that the Vatican is probaly one of the richer nations.
