some people are just dumb and want someone to look down upon. some teens arent ready for motherhood though. a handful of my friends have children and had them when they were young, like still in high school, and they turned out to be great moms!

I think they look at it as more of a waste of childhood,no you were not the only one having sex. Also no birth control is 100 percent I am allergic to it and yes I was a teenage mother. As long as the mother no matter what age they are takes proper care of their children then I think everyone else needs to mind their own business

i think that ppl judge teenage mothers harshly because for some they feel that teenagers could probably have accomplished soooo much more in their lifetime if they just waited to have children until they were in their line of work and are fully capable of raising a child.
and some judge because they dont know and understand or KNOW you. some pass this judgment believing that they know every single teenage mom and why they did this and why they did that but without prior knowledge of that teen or just basically knowing...they are pretending to "play GOD" and pass hypocritical analysis onto mothers of a young age.
i feel that if you are taking care of business, and your child is being cared for, and you have no problems having this responsibility, then im all for backing teenage moms up. and for the moms who arent taking care of their child, i feel that they just need guidance and help from someone with experience thats all.

Who was robbed? The mother by all the meanies who didn't want to keep providing her with free stuff? Eventually all of us law abiding citizens who do nothing wrong but pay our taxes and try and follow the rules get fed up being taken advantage of. God forbid we stand up for ourselves. She had free rent in her subsidized housing. She could have moved in with her father but wanted to maintain her independence in her "free" housing. So, she lied to get free schooling for her girls. If she wanted the school system she should have given up the free housing and moved into her fathers place. She chose not to. She got into trouble, end of story. If she didn't lie, she wouldn't be able to cry about being made and example of. Just don't lie. Very simple. Then people don't need to use you as an example.

It's a sad story. But why pay attention? As long as you can give the child the basic needs there shouldn't be anything wrong with it.. It's sad how some people judge others like that straight away, they ought to be ashamed of themselves.

I find the holier than thou attitude they [ the ones who judge] have so shallow. They may react this way because they spent their teen years praying for aunt flo if you know what I mean. Just keep hugging and loving those beautiful babies of yours, and pay no mind to the critics! You can show them by keeping up the GREAT job you are doing !

I get tired of people taking that "Judge not" statement out of context as a way for them to justify their own poor behavior and avoid the justifiable negative ramifications of their actions. If you want to quote scripture, how about reading up on the verses about promiscuity, adultery and fornication. There is a valid reason teens shouldn't be sleeping around. Children need a mommy and a daddy who live in the same home and love each other. Yes, BC doesn't always work. That's why we don't screw around before we are ready to raise children. The problem isn't your birth control, it's the choices that teens make. Why is it normal for you to have sex and problematic that your BC failed rather than problematic that you're engaged in underage sex and normal to become pregnant as a result? After all, pregnancy is the result of sexual activity. The problem is that it has become so normal to screw up one's own life and that of their babies. Hooray for society.

I agree, especially the last line. There is a little boy in the daycare where my son goes whose parents are sophmores in high school, and this little boy is happy, well dressed, and well taken care of.
