Are you serious? 420 is a reference to marijuana. Silly people use it for code as if the people they are hiding their message from don't know what they are up to.
I believe it comes from the penal code for possession of marijuana in the united states.
I'm so proud of my daughter who told me that everyone at school is being stupid about todays date.

The meaning of 420
According to Steven Hager, editor of High Times, the term 420 originated at San Rafael High School, in 1971, among a group of about a dozen pot-smoking wiseacres who called themselves the Waldos. The term 420 was shorthand for the time of day the group would meet, at the campus statue of Louis Pasteur, to smoke pot. "Waldo Steve," a member of the group who now owns a business in San Francisco, says the Waldos would salute each other in the school hallway and say "420 Louis!" The term was one of many invented by the group, but it was the one that caught on.

For some reason, it became nationwide Pot-smoking Day, yet i'm unsure the place it originated. It merely seems to be one greater reason potheads get to smoke some greater effective pot (and somewhat some intense schoolers bypass college for the "holiday"). it is likewise Adolf Hitler's birthday, no longer that it is suitable.
