NO DIFFERENCE....the reason being that an actor is an actor. He/she auditions and gets roles, sometimes on film, sometimes on stage. Of course stage performance demands a stronger voice and for some actors who do NOT have this ability, film acting is better.
But the ingredients of being "professional", e.g preparation for the role, integrity in portrayal, honesty in interpretation, respect for the director and co-actors etc are exactly the same.
The actors in soap operas are every bit as good as any Hollywood star. It is just that they have chosen that medium. And there are just as many terrible actors in film as there are on TV or the stage.
If the word "professionlism" had to be defined in one word, that one word would be "honesty". Nothing more, nothing less.
Wells, Brando,Olivier,Bergman, Taylor and Burton all deisplayed their professionlism on stage and in the movies but the latter, being 100 times more lucrative (the best stage actor in the world could never earn $20 million for one production as does Julia Robertsor Tom Hanks for example.

I would say anything that is live would require an actor/actress to act more professionally. More pressur to have the role/lines down perfectly. Also, you can't throw a tantrum and walk off the stage the way you could a set that is just filming. At least not without ruining your reputation and career. Plus, broadway is more traditional and thus probably more respected. People don't fool around with broadway shows that cost a good chunk of change to go and see compared to a tv show that comes through the tube for free.

Having worked in both, (not an actor), I don't think you can really compare the two "professionally" as there are different demands for each. Stage actors learn their lines and blocking for the show, and they never change. TV actors have to learn a completely new set lines and blocking every week. Stage actors body movement is different then in TV. On stage, it's go big or go home, TV is very subtle. The professional is someone who can make the jump from one medium to the other. The person I feel is the best at this is Patrick Stewart. If you've never seen him on stage, you are missing out.

I would assume Broadway actors because "the show must go on" and so their prima donna behavior never held up a performance...
When you can deliver on schedule, then you are a "professional."
