a question about writing a manuscript...?

If the story is to take place in a city or town, do you have to get permission from the state/city where it takes place? in order to use the name of the city? (i.e. Oklahoma City, OK)

Nope...you may use places, but be careful using the real names of businesses, corporations, actual people, etc...
