It is suggested that illicit cocaine production was recently estimated at 780 metric tons of which approximately 23 metric tons were seized.

Over 4M marijuana plants were seized during the same time period.

Over 10,000 methamphetamine labs seized in 2004 yet a notable decrease to around 2500 seizures in 2006.

Enforcement techniques are working but just slow and difficult. It is estimated by some that about 10-15% of illegal drugs are seized. Some will say the estimate is high while others say low.

Enforcement along with education and treatment will curb the problem!
