I once seen a batch of them flashing their rolls of bread about, but one got a cob on , gave the others some stick and ended up toast. Ironically the buried him in a tin, but all the flours that grow on his grave are real bloomers.

To knead means to mix a dough - any dough - by hand. This assures proper mixing and equal distribution of the ingredients. As you knead, after each time you knead, using the heel [the part where the base of your thumb and palm meet your wrist] of your hand(s)], turn the dough in the bowl or on the table/bench one-quarter turn. When you turn it this way, the ingredients are equally distributed and you'll find the dough may be mixed very well. If you find the dough is still wet, you may have to add a tiny bit more flour to the mix and knead it into the mix to absorb that extra moisture. No, you probably didn't make a mistake measuring. What probably happened is the humidity in the air made the mixture a little too wet. I wish you well. Ron B.

Yes the need to Knead dough, if they don't knead the dough they get no dough. Then you have no dough to buy dough and you won't need to knead the dough because you don't have the dough to buy dough so kneading is not needed

Of course, they knead a lot of flour as well. To be a baker, one kneads patience as well as creativity. LOL

Yes, unless they become their families' breadwinners by playing the lottery (but chances are slim, about one in a baker's dozen).

btw, nice to know you're still there ;-)
