It's kind of like a black box -- tells how fast he went, where he went, things like that. I know newer cars allow it but I don't know about a 94 Honda

there are several units on the market, i.e guidepoint, teletrac, etc. that give you that capability. You can set a speed at which you are contacted if it is exceeded, a perimeter fence that if penetrated you are contacted and a hand full of other options. The year of the car doesn't so much matter since this is not a Manufacturers accessory.
I am personally against them (and I sell them). I have seen parents do it for kids and husbands do it for wives and vice versa (obviously with out the other knowing). These company's are also on the market as a theft recovery system, however they're based on gps, typically run off the car's battery so if the battery is clipped or the car is in a location that it can not communicate with the satellite then it is rendered useless.
I also know that in a few states there is a new camera that can be installed (i am more in favor of) that only records when there is swerving or heavy braking or a collision, to document the inside of the cabin and out the front window. Some insurance companies have started this to promote safe driving with teenagers and are giving breaks on the insurance if it is installed in the vehicles.

i imagine a 2008 civic coupe for a 16 365 days previous is wonderful no matter if it truly is there second vehicle. My neice drove a lexus for a 365 days even as she replaced into 15 and now drives the 08 civic at 16. so i imagine it truly is okay, yet no longer as a first vehicle. desire that facilitates.

I think what you are referring to is the device that connects to the OBD II data connector (like the Davis CarChip E/X with Alarm) and stores data on parameters like speed, etc so you can dnld it to your PC. The 94 Civic is pre-OBD II therefore you would have to get an OBD I compatible device, but I can't tell you if that is available. If it is, it should work. My cursory search did not reveal any.

yeah it is possible. they have tracking devices that you can look up on the computer that shows you the location on a map. But if your son ever finds out you did this to his car...he wil probably hate you forever. i would only install this if he is a serious problem child. otherwise relax, and have some faith that your teen will make the right decisions in life.

Are you paranoid or something? Did your parents put a "black box" on your car? You turned out all right didn't you?
Has she given you a reason to monitor her every move?
