I wouldn't consider using any of these for a child, simply because I think a child should be given a real, proper name that he or she will not need to spell, pronounce, or explain to all and sundry.

Merline: there was an old Norman name 'Merlin', based on a Welsh name.
Meriel: this was common in 12th and 13th century England (as a form of Muriel, which is probably based on an Irish name).
Quin: an odd spelling of a name based on the Latin word for "fifth"; the name was often used for the fifth son in a family.
Anjali: looks like an odd form of Angel (based on a Greek word meaning "messenger"). In Hungarian, "angyali" means "of or relating to angels, angelic".
Izza: an odd spelling of Iza, short for Izabella, which is a variant of the Provencal form of Elizabeth.
Nicola: a Latinate form of Nicole, feminine of Nicholas.
Japhney: Daphne with a J? There's also Japhet, one of the sons of Noah.
Sidalia: there's a city in Missouri called Sedalia.
Germanie: the fashion for naming girls after countries is nothing new: it was quite the rage for a time in medieval France.
Sabine: this is a saint's name, based on a Roman cognomen (descriptive name).
Chiffon: I actually know someone with this name in this spelling, but the Irish feminine name Siobhan is pronounced almost the same (it has a 'v'-ish sound instead of 'f').
Betina: this is an Italianate or Latinate double diminutive of Elizabeth; it's more often spelled Bettina.

I guess you have to decide whether being unique is worth the child having to spell their name everytime they say it or tell people how to pronounce it on a daily basis. I have a complicated last name and you can tell people how to pronounce something 100 times and they'll still say it wrong. It gets to the point where it'll drive you crazy. Some of the names arent that bad as far as being different goes. The ones that have to have the pronunciation next to them are the ones I would try to avoid. They will have to be able to not only say it but also write it by kindergarten. :)

Sandrine: I'd name my daughter Sandrine as long as it was pronounced the French way.

Quin: This is a cute name, except I'd probably spell it Quinn with two n's.

Nicola: Never heard of this, but seems like a version of Nicole and it's a cute name.

I think these are the only ones I could actually see naming my child. The others are either not my style or I can't pronounce them.

Some of these answers are pretty extreme. Child abuse to name your child a unique name? That's silly. I know, I know.. a child may get picked on. However, children are mean. They will FIND something to pick on you about. If it isn't the kids name, it will be something else.

Anyway, to the question.. Personally, all of the names are a bit out there for me. I like unique names, but not THAT unique. Good luck in finding a name.

WOW! where did you grow up and meet these people! There are a few "out there" names, but also 2 that I really like... Neylan and Nicola are pretty names, the rest you might end up having to explain to people all the time just how to say your daughters name. Good luck!

you do know your child will have to go through life with ppl pronouncing there name wrong, and spelling there names wrong. Some might even make fun of the kid. When you have to put next to the name how to pronounce it, do you really think that's fair to the kid.

man those are some weird names I personally only liked the following two, Yajaira (pronounced Yuh high ruh) and Zaida but I might now consider them for my kids.

I think anything that you have to explain how to pronounce it is a bad plan. Its a long list. Some names I liked that jumped out at me were Quinn, Silverine, Izza, Nazarene, Nicola, Samona, Sabine and Betina.
