I personally dont believe that Idol should be back next year. I think that its nothing but a big joke and a bunch of kids that cant sing. America isnt even choosing who the next American Idol will be its all the producers. Iam also not saying my vote was for sanjaya but I do think it was wrong the way the show did him. The producer said you could trust on his word that sanjaya would not be the next American Idol so that shows you how much of our votes go into the show.

Yes, I think it should be back for another season, and here's why: It always starts up in January, and many of the television shows that begin there, end there, proving that many people enjoy this show. It has brought forth many great voices; Kelly Clarkson, Rueben Studdard, Clay Aiken, Chris Daughtry, Carrie Underwood, and look how far Jennifer Hudson has went, all because of nationwide attention to American Idol. I'm unsure where you got the information regarding the producers' decision to give Sanjaya the axe, but I believe the majority finally was heard, and so what if it is rigged? I enjoy many aspects of watching it. I like picking folks, comparing notes with the judges, and "thinking" that my votes are supporting my favorite which in regard to this year is Blake.

YES, I love that show, I just hate the way the voting works, next season, there won't be people like Sanjaya because the judges will toughen up and not put people like Sanjaya through Hollywood week, so there would only be good singers to vote for. Sanjaya isn't a good reason that the show should be cancelled, it makes too much money and lots of people watch it.

It will be back. It is the top rated show on television. Fox isn't canceling it's cash cow. The votes do count. Sanjaya got the least votes. You may love him but obviously not that many people do.

It has had some great results in the past. I hate that it got off track with Sanjaya this year but yes, it should return. You can't dispute the fact that Carrie and Kelly are phenomenally successful.

I don't think it would even be possible for idol to come back next year. They've pretty much sucked out as many good singers as possible, so the only people that would even try out would probably be really bad.

I think it will and should be. It is a great opportunity for young people with talent to get exposure that they may have never gotten in a lifetime. Even if someone with genuine talent does not get past the first episode they will have been exposed to numerous talent agents all across the tv viewing area.

as long as enough people watch it, and the show makes money, they'll keep making the show. I quit watching it years ago, but I still tune in for the initial auditions.
