Let your sister help you with your costume. Let her see that it is all jut an act - a game - like Halloween. Show her the make-up - let her put some of it on. They will get over it... and when you are not doing the play, then watch how you act around them if you do not want them to be scared of you.
I have a five year old daughter, and I find that most of the things she is supposedly scared of are not really that scary. She is a bit of a drama queen herself, and the "scared" act is for attention.

The good news is you are a very convincing actress...bad news, too convicing for your nieces and nephews. To help them understand, take them to the studio next time and have them read the minor roles of "victim" and have to portray the role, or practice your role with them so they will understand it is "make-believe", not real.

Get them to do "Alice in Wonderland" or "Winnie the Pooh" next, and get the role of Pooh, Piglet, Alice or the White Rabbit.
