I've recently added an Nvidia Geforce 7600 GT to my pc, which I think is gd enough for my motherboard. Yet, sometimes, my computer still chugs and lags when I set the games' graphics setting to the highest. Is it the matter of low RAM memory or low frame rate of processor?

if your gaming i recommend a min of 1 gig mem. sometimes the Lag is a result of Internet activity. even if not playing a on line game, often times programs do a quick check for software updates, new e-mail etc, that seem to cause such effects, periodically. check the game reccomended requiremets for the cpu then be sure your at least about 10% faster than that. also with graphics to the highest setting it could be the card. i mean when you start adding anti AA and higher resolutions, it really ups the graphics requirements.
I'd like to see game manufactures start listing reuirements for "max setting" gameplay. you know min, recommended, and max setting.

Well first off, it would be hard to tell if the problem is due to your processor or RAM since you neglected to tell us about either of the two. As for the card, it is a nice midrange card, but to call it "one the best available" is not accurate. It is not suprising that on the highest settings the games might lag a little, that is a midrange card, so you should probably be expecting to play with midrange settings.

u did not mention your processor and the RAM.For todays gaming 1gig of RAM is a must and 7600GT is one of the best cards available today.RAM is only required for loading of the games and during the actual gameplay it only depends on the amount of video RAM present in your card and the graphic processor.
