I have a VGA (next to a DVI) slot on my PC for monitor input, and a VGA slot called 'PC input' on my LCD TV.

When I connect both with a VGA cable and select 'PC input' on my TV, it says no signal, any idea why this doesn't work? Thanks

You will have to activate the external ( or second ) montior feature on your PC.

This feature is in the CONTROL PANEL, in the DISPLAY section.

Just turn on the second monitor, and hopefully the signal will be there.

In some cases, you may have to turn off your primary monitor ( one of my laptops had that problem ).

Do you know the make of your video card? Would help in answering this one.

No you wouldn't need an NTSC converter anywhere, seeing as UK televisions are PAL anyway! If it has a VGA input then it's designed to take a simple cable from PC to TV.

We need to know your Graphics card make and model rearly but, The most likely thing that could be causing the problem is that (Like said above..... the second "display" needs to be activated)... The other thing is that the "Type" (ie ; NTSC is America and Austrailia) So the uk is PAL. It can be selected from the menus inside your software that came with you graphics card thats installed. If all of the above infomation and mine hasn't worked then i guess the card may be faulty.

I trust that you are connecting PC to TV before switching either on. On the PC there may be a detect TV option via Advanced Display Properties.

I believe you will need a VGA to NTSC converter in between the two.
