Is it maybe Iran with their current nuclear programme, or Iraq, or Israel, or North Korea, or maybe even a bit closer to home?

The US. Arrogant and ignorant leader with unlimited fire power and no discretion on how to use it.

As for the "Dalai Wiseman", your lack of intelligence and insight is staggering. Did you just throw out three things for insults that you thought would make you sound sophisticated? One, I am well over 14, two, you just keep banging your head against the wall with Bush because you just keep getting thicker, and three, lazy just doesn't even make sense.

USA. These are the reasons:

1. Is the state that have declared war most frequently in the past 50 years (in the last three years have declared war to Iraq, Afganistan and Somalia)

2. Is the only country that used nuclear weapons in a conflict

3. In the last year, for three time have not respected international law (WTO regarding state monopoly, use of weapons forbidden by the Geneva Constitution, aggression to a legitimate state -Iraq- that, according to international law even if dangerous or terrorist cannot be invaded)

4. Support to several radical movement or people: A - today Luis Posada has been freed by USA even if he killed 700 Cuban only because he is against FIdel Castro B - as soon as the Islamic courts brought peace to Somalia (after 23 years of war) with 3 months without fighting the USA declared war to this country

I don’t think Iran poses a major threat to world peace unless they manage to develop a bomb and use it against Israel, which they ultimately would do (remember Iran does not recognise Israel and its constitution call for the “complete and utter destruction of Israel and its people)

Iraq poses no threat to world peace only to local stability.

Israel certainly is no threat to world peace if the west keeps Iran in line, if not then Israel may decide to “Go it alone” and take out Iran’s nuclear capabilities as they did to Iraq in 1980.

The biggest threats are China, with a greatly increased military capability and continued threats to Taiwan over its ever increasing independence attitude, the financing of many despot regimes in Africa and South-east Asia, and continued sabre rattling with India.

Russia is a possible threat with vastly increased military spending over recent years and Putin’s reluctance to step down and huge numbers of Russian ministers now stating openly that they want to reclaim what’s theirs.

India / Pakistan is another possibility, they go through constant small border skirmishes that have broken out into war in the past, both countries are now nuclear armed, and the Pakistani president is in increasing danger of being overthrown anti-Indian, anti-western hard-line Islamic elements in the armed services and his own government.

Then there’s the always present problems of famine, natural disaster, global warming and always increasing population that all have / could / will lead to new and different types of threats to world peace.

The United States, they really should be more careful as to who they vote for in the future. The countries you mention have never been a threat to England, in fact the only country that has waged war and attacked England in the last few centuries has been Germany. I don't think they are going to do this again any time in the near future, if ever.

Iraq not because they are particular dangerous, or are plotting a world take over but because if the US, Britain and the rest of our allies can’t bring order to a little dot of a country then what will this show to other country would are really dangerous. Then North Korea and Iran will really think they can do something. I think the idea of Iraq beating all of us is dangerous and is the biggest threat.

I really don't think any single country could pose a threat to world peace. Relationships between countries, however, cause problems. I'd say the hostile relationships between the US and countries like Iran and North Korea would pose the most danger.

The fact that we HAVE countries, with borders means that there will never actually be peace. People will always want what someone else has, and will fight to get it (or converesely, protect it). Until we have a unified world, with a world view of the people and their needs, we can never truley have peace.
