Most sweet corn falls in the range of 75 - 100 days from planting to harvesting. They should be planted in rows about 2 - 2.5 ft. apart and about 10-12 inches apart in the row. For a great treat, when they are ready, pull the shucks back but don't remove them, and clean the ear of silks, then put the shucks back over the ear, soak in water for an hour, then place on the grill over med. hot coals, turning occasionally until they are done.

They will take a few weeks and they need a pretty constant temperature and no cold. Mine are doing well, they are about 6" high after about 5 weeks. Its the first time I've grown them too and am really excited.
You do need to plant several in a block as they are wind pollinated
Good luck

Depends on where you live. Search for "sweet corn cultivation" and look for a university server near you -- they will have a climate that's nearly the same.
I think the most important thing is to keep it weeded; next most important is keep it watered. You may have some luck mulching it. And get a scarecrow or some other bird-scarer if birds are a problem in your area.
Good luck!

I start mine off by soaking for 24 hours in a bowl of tepid water, then put them in a plastic box with wet j-cloth/kitchen paper in the bottom. They go into the airing cupboard and germination takes place within 3 days.
I then sow them in 3" pots of compost and grow them on indoors for a couple of weeks, harden them off by leaving them out during the day, and plant them out when the leaves are 3" high. That takes about 3 weeks or so.
I sowed mine at the end of March and have just planted it out.

Have you got them under glass, either in a greenhouse or coldframe. They should start showing soon if you have and keep them watered.
