It's a little girl name. You just don't hear..."Let's go to Grandma Megan's house!"

Meagan (Mee-gan) sounds like a little girl. Megan (May-gan) sounds a little older. I agree that I first think of a brunette and maybe a little "plain" if you know what I mean.
Good luck! :)

A brunnette girl...it sounds like a young girl's name, like 11-13. I haven't heard an adult named Megan.

I had a friend - she spelled it Maegan (I think...I hope!) and a friend who spelled it Megan, and another one who spelled it Meghan. I don't like the Meghan spelling.
Whether it be kid or adult name is all on how you wear it. If you give her a cute, girlie spelling name, it will also stay a cute, girlie name - and never mature to an adult name.
I like the Megan - it grows with you - and it isn't to cutsie or girlie - it can be used as girlie, and used as adult - however - it is in between. In the middle.

Megan... a teen, kinda popular cool...
Its neither a grown up name or a li'l kids one... In between. Though pretty modern-ish I guess.

Well, you don't see a whole lot of old ladies named Megan.
Or Becky.
