They are a bit bigger than wasps, and a similar shape - but not as large or rounded as your average bumble bee.

Not sure but I don't think they are either bees or wasps. Are they a variety of bee? They aren't hornets are they?

Think you may mean Hoverflies. They look the look, but don't have the sting.. :)

Theyre not Hornets - these are much bigger (upto 10cm long & very aggresive)

I think the creatures your on about are syphid flies (hoverflies) - no danger to you as have no sting!

Probably a Queen wasp, they are looking for places for their nests now. Hornets in the uK are small so I doubt its one of them

Don't know but they always hover over me and don't go away even when I wave my hands at them. I feel like they're watching me.
