The share unwillingness to help from Fed. Government and what we now know about the cynicism surrounding this administration, Barbara Bush's quite preposterous and racist comments... have made me think.

If you accept 9/11 is not what it is shown to be, why not?

Bearing in mind the Location of New Orleans and what we know about oil and gas..........

Yes, it is possible. I would blame it more on rich developers that wanted the black's properties to build casinos on. Many of the blacks had owned their homes for several generations and refused to sell when they were approached by the developers.
America's handling of the situation during and after Katrina is horrific. Look how quick bush got down to VA Tech for a photo op. It took days for him to respond to thousands of dead and dying.

I and everyone else from that area knew the levees were bad. We would always joke about it. Then it happened and it wasn't funny anymore. Honestly, I can't say what I feel about 9/11 because I don't think we were told everything but then I also think the gov't was doing their jobs by not telling us everything. A person can handle certain info, but people collectively cannot. I disagree with the conspiracy theories of 9/11 and Katrina, but I do not necessarily believe that there wasn't more to the story and both could have been avoided.

While the government of GWB may have allowed 9/11 I doubt they blew the levees in New Orleans. Those levees were old and several administrations and several Congresses knew it and did nothing about it. The fact is that it was a matter of time before the levees broke.

Sorry, no conspiracy this time.

You are joking, right? If not, you frighten me. Perhaps you are suffering from paranoia. Perhaps the voices in your head told you the "government" did it.

Well, I live in the DC area, and I have been a part of the establishment in various ways. Most people I know are also involved in the "establishment". When you accuse "the government" you are accusing real people, moms and dads, who live and work to serve you. I know many folks who work for the NSA and they are not monsters who are watching YOU to persecute YOU...and they are people of all walks of life. NO, we did not blow up the levees, and Bush does not have a secret cadre of evildoers just waiting to destroy the United States. I can't even imagine the STUPIDITY and MORONIC nature of people who believe that all of the people who live and work in DC are either involved in, quiet about, or completely unaware of some great conspiracy.

Maybe Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton got together with Louis Farrakan to blow up the levees so they could make themselves out to be victims again. What do you think of that?

Sweetpea-please tell me WHAT racist comments Barbara Bush has made (I've never heard such thing from her--so if she indeed said anything offensive you can email me a link to the whole quote). But to answer your question, I suppose it was possible for the government to blow up the levees--but they didn't need to. G-dub's got a great hurricane machine!

Are you kidding?? The federal Government has sunk billions into rebuilding it. Why would they blow it up knowing that? What possible gain was it to anyone? That area was paying taxes why demolish it? That was a huge concentration of Democrats. Why spread them out to other areas and potentially affect other elections? If the population ever found out, the President and all who knew, would face instant impeachment, trial and maybe even treason and execution.

It didn't happen and it will never happen.

No the government had no hand in the failure of the levees. What it is about years and years or warning and a Cat 5 hurricane do you not understand. And Barbara was right, maybe not politically correct, but she was right.

Doubt they blew them up, but power broker that knew if they held than other sections of city many have been flooded; could have rammed ones that protects commoners to take pressure off important ones. Same thing happened in different area of country during Mississippi Flooding.

Weren't the levys blown up in the 1920's in an attempt to save white areas? Several elderly witnesses to that event concluded that the same thing was happening after Katrina when they heard sounds that sounded like explosions. It would not surprise me, but in 2005 it may have been as much an economic as a racial based decision.

I thought you were interested in "the truth"...are you now engaging in rampant speculation, and are you preparing to draw conclusions with virtually invisible evidence?

Is the "truth" to you an evidence empty conclusion, posed as a question with the ever present dots.......implying that you thought about it really really hard?

Your 9-11 and Levee hypotheses...are nonsense.

Why do people see a conspiracy in everything that happens?

9/11 was perpetuated by extremest Islamic terrorists not our government

Hurricane Katrina was a natural event that hit New Orleans, probably the worst place to build a city since it is so far below sea level.
