With love in Christ.

Haha , I have asked myself this question many times. But I have lived in sixteen years and unfortunately I haven't found the answer yet. I think there is no "meaning" really, we are humans with brains and we need to find answers for everything , but there is something beyond the words. Why do you want to ask this question , probably because you arn't satisfied with the thought that you dont have a clue of why you are here. So I think to find the answer, stop pondering :P , because it wont get better, trust me. Set meanings of things IN life instead and you will find the meaning of life, okay that sounded uncomfortable blaha :P What makes a dinner taste good ? what makes a flower beautiful ? We are souls , deeply , in some kind of shells , our purpose is to find happiness, love and safety. We want to reach the universal goal - happiness and love. It doesn't matter if you are an evil person, you were born to feel love and happiness, or in other ways you have a passion for something , like. i can hardly find someone who search for pain and misery. We may look different , but deeply we are all the same. My theory is that ; whe we die we re-unite in some kind of an universal power, we're we were before we were born... I'm not religious and I don't believe in a god that judge us , but I do belive that there is some kind of a power. But we are a part of it... we are a part of it all , take it as something blessing... When we eat a good dinner we are happy for a while, when we drink alcohol we get happy a short time, when we have money we can do stuff , and you just want more , more and more. But what last is beeing satisfied about yourself, your life and love. I might sound very serious now, but haha I can't find any better reason. Life is like music, when you listen to it everything is what it's supposed to be .. The brain is a good master, but a bad soldier. Try to focus on your feelings instead and you might find the answer : ) , but well i'm on the same level as you .. so .. don't feel alone. Also ; remember , that you're not the center of the universe really , even though It sounds like with what I have written. To treat others, is like treating yourself. XD

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

I've learnt quite a lot in the past weeks so I'll share some insight.

Life is the only time you have to communicate with everyone around you. The only time you get to do something about it, a time of now or never. I believe we only have one go at this thing called life, so we should spend the best of it; not fooling around and making a fool of yourself. Life is now, and we won't always get now, so learn to appreciate it.

And on a final note, you could spend your whole life searching for the meaning of life, and find out in the end that you have not lived.

To live. Not for material gain but for life itself. Do you remember when you were a small child. Your whole world was made up of fun. No attachments, no cares, no worries. As we grow older we give significance to trivial things. A good job, a nice house or car, a good woman/man. None of these things really matter to a child. Remember what it was like to be FREE...free to do anything you wanted. There is so much more to life than what you have in front of you right now. You must be willing to break the invisible self made shackles that hold you where you are before you can live life again. Be a child, be Free!

The meaning of life is both profound and simple.

It answers the order of creation, the motive of existence and the mystery of the universe to ourselves.

The meaning of life is:
Awareness Loves Life (A-L-L)
See: http://ucadia.org/uca/u23/230600.htm

Unfortunately, because we are life, we see the statement as
Life Loves Awareness (L-L-A).

But if you were able to comprehend just one thought of the universe from its perspective, then you'd see that the greatest expression of existence is life- that the key to life is existence.

That living is more important than knowing everything.

For example, there is a wonderful quote from buddhism-
before enlightenment, chop wood and carry water;
after enlightenment, chop wood and carry water.

Sadly, we sometimes are mistaken in believing that if we knew everything, our lives would be better. I can assure you that is not the case. Living is what counts.

All the very best.

Meaning is an unanswerable question.
Purpose can be contemplated in many ways.
We among others take the universe out of the realm of the unknowing to an entity that can contemplate it's existence.

I think no one really knows hun. People have been saying how the angels came to them or "somebody" has spoken in their sleep. but we dont really know for sure..not everyone can agree because we all have different believes. I think thats "part" of the meaning of life...to be truly yourself. But as far as your curiosity goes...noone knows for sure. Just live it like its your last day..and you'll be fine^.^
