Time and Tide Waits for No One
means that there are some things that keep ticking, even if we wish that they would stop a minute so that I can catch my breath.
For example: if you are watching a tv show and you should be doing the assignment - hey, T and T waits for no one! You will not have time to do the assignemnt
Or if you need to fill the car with gas, and you put it off 'cos the next station (50 miles away) may have it 10 cents cheaper, you run out and someone will say "T and T watis for no one". See, the tank got empty even though you wanted it to wait to get empty until you got to the cheapie gas!
