Thanks guys ssooooo much--- it worked....Note---had to fiddle with it a little---a blank spacing box is not the same as a spacing box with a zero in it ( You need to put zero in the box) ...Yikes...You guys are the best...I love Yahoo Answers...Last week a guy fixed my car...You guys know anything about refridgerators...JK----LOL...

Try highlighting the complete document (click on Edit - click on Select All), then change your line spacing to single. Note: The Line Spacing box will be blank, just use the drop-down menu & choose single.

i prefer to highlight the entire document, then right mouse click, click paragraph, then change to single spacing.

also check to see if you're in normal template.

If all else fails, highlight the doc and clear all formatting.

> Press CONTROL A
> Right click text
> PARAGRAPH
> SPACING
> Clear both boxes & set LINE SPACING to SINGLE

PS on the Formatting Style Box (Formatting Tool Bar) set to "NORMAL"

three ways
1. ctrl 1 goes to single spacing, ctrl 2 goes to double
2. right click in the text area, go to paragraph, and there is an option there
3. sometimes in a toolbox on the top there is an option to change it
