First of all, when JFK made that tax cut speech to the Economic Club of NY, he said he felt like a secularist in front of the church pulpit talking about seperation of church and state. These were not his people.

Second of all, the JFK/LBJ tax cut was next to nonexistent. Tax rates were lowered in 1964, but tax loop holes were closed resulting in an actual net increase in tax revenues.

- He created the Alliance for Progress that promised 20 billion within one decade for developing nations in central and southern America on the condition that they create progressive economic policies that included democratic governments (no coup d'etats), land reform, a more equitable income distribution, and taxing "those who have most." He said, "those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable."

- He did not pre-emptively attack Cuba over the Cuban Missile Crisis which could have resulted in a nuclear war. Instead, he negotiated with the Soviet Union and got the ballistic missiles removed in exchange for America removing its missiles in Turkey.
- He signed the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty of 1963 along with the Soviet Union and United Kingdom.
- He had his own version of FDR's New Deal program called "New Frontier". It ambitiously promised federal funding for education, medical care for the elderly, and government intervention to halt the recession. Kennedy also promised an end to racial discrimination.

mong the laws/programs passed:
--- Massive liberal federal funding (22 billion in 1960 dollars) for the Apollo Project to take man to the moon. Such an effort created rapid scientific advancement that led to a stronger economy.
--- Passed the Fair Labor Standard Act of 1961 that expanded FLSA's scope and gradually increased the minimum wage.

All this was to be overseen by the newly created Department of Housing and Urban Affairs

Kennedy was also a maverick. He warned the public about secret societies, a la Scull and Bones. And he also attempted to release America from the chock hold that powerful bankers have on this country with his Executive order 11110 which would have dismantled our illegal Federal Reserve system and would have eventually lead to the elimination of the Federal wage tax.
The Federal Reserve is a group of PRIVATE banks that print our money and lends it to us with interest. Every single dime we spend in Federal Wage taxes goes to pay that interest. Executive order 11110 gave the US Treasury the right to print money backed by our silver reserves. Eventually Kennedy’s new silver backed money would have replaced the Federal Reserve’s fiat money and would have put them out of business. THIS, I believe is what led to Kennedy’s murder. Powerful private bankers stood to lose trillions, and they just couldn’t have that.
Note that Executive order 11110 was never repealed. All it will take is a President and a group of House representatives with some balls to reinstate Kennedy’s order, and we will immediately change the course of American history, and will once again be on the road to freedom.

I don't claim that he was a Rep, however, I do understand the drastic change that the Dem party has went under in recent decades. The Dems of the JFK era are NOT the same as many Dems are today. That is probably he point people are making.

JFK has little to nothing in common with the modern Democratic Party.
Therefore, it is confusing to call him a Democrat, because when people hear that term, they think of the Quasi-Socalistic party now, instead of the New Deal Democrats of 40 years ago.
