in a sense they do coz all the good reformations that came to india were in the era of british empire.even gandhi and nehru were impressed by them and they adopted the same policies in the constitution. but the difference is that indians at that time were not able to manage it

Our forefathers had the best interest of India ,when they ousted British raj from India in 1947. Unfortunately, the blood bath that preceded and followed our Independence day,the assasination of the Father of the Nation, within five months,Britishintrigued Pak's assaullt on Kashmir, and many such factors impelled our constitution framers to try to bring their dreams true.
Adullt franchise was given to a people, who did not know what the ballot paper is?and what for it is used! Further, in the very first general election, the voters were asked to drop their votes in Boxes bearing Party's symbol!!
During the 60 years of our independent existence, we have failed to build a social- engineering but made much ado about our
frequent elections. Parties get voted to power not on the basis of their manifestroes or programmmes but by all
fraudulent means.
Capturing "power" has become the craze
and corruption and scams have become order of the day.
All higher values of life have been thrown into the air and expediency is made more
important.
To add to it,the depravity of the society and devaluation, have led MPs to demand
cash for raising question in Parliament!Mps
use their positions for brokering "deals" with the govt.!! The latest an MP has indulged in carrying "Human cargo",disabusing his privilleges!!! In election campaign certain communities are targetted to prevent their voting and ensuring their "own success".
Our presnt day leaders and our own contemporaries are to be blamed for these and not the poor dead ancesstors.

And you think that the Raj would have stopped all these 'degredations' of Indian culture? You can garuntee that if British India was still in existance you would be 100 times more like the west than you are now - with all the corporate effects on culture this would have. Britain is not a shining beacon from a romantic past - it was extorting your country for economic gain - and that economic gain today would mean selling western products to westernised Indians. At least with India being ruled by its people YOU made the decisions to live like that, not having them imposed by foreign mandate.

Why are you thinking so? Do you think Indians are helpless after the departure of British Raj? You are committing a great mistake? Even today also the English is ruling our country and not our mother tongue! Some selfish politicians are gaining ground and fully concentrating on accumulation of wealth and forgetting the society and country. The poor Indians are short sighted and voting and electing these waste fellows for just one day labour charge or one quarter of beer! Whenever the educated abondons the use of english and whenever the higher technical studies in India turn in the local media then only we must feel we have been free from The English. Let us hope in the near future we must achieve it. ok

No country in the world appreciates colonialism any more.
You were able to hear your protector music over and over, and it was cool. The latest in technology came to your liberated country thanks to the exchange between gadgets and natural resources.
The history in your books was corrected. Speaking the language of the protector was good too. Besides, how many
people in the world speak two languages?
It was an honor to serve on the masters army. The honor was to defend your country from independent minds and stop
any terrible possibility of self rule. But then again, Mahatma Ghandy believed in peaceful resistance to foreign powers...What a pity!

are you sure your fore-fathers were not actually indians of european genes namely ARYANS.We were ruled by the Mughals for centuries as well. And those who claim that we have a 5000 years of civiliosed existence do we still need to glorify only 200 years of British Rule and try to follow their rule of as mere slaves. We donot mind continuing with constitution and the rules that is unsuitable and be broken.Inter-castes marriages as per your wisdom is ' all evils'. this is what our so called 5000 years of civilisation has bestowed on us . so long we have your kind of Aryans amongst us it may not take long some foreigner tosnatch our freedom in not so distant time.

Action of 1947 was right. Actions of 2007 are also right. There was no TV in 1947. In 2007, I am unable to teach anything to my children. They are my father. I am helpless like you. I can not buy anything for children.
