Of course, China is to blame. The country that mindlessly kills cats and dogs for no apparent reason. I think we should really consider how safe any of their imported food ingredients really are. Give those jobs back to Americans. I'll pay more for that. Would you?

Madability - China does mindlessly kill their own people. No question there. They do a lot of things I don't agree with.

I've always recomended Eagle Pack, they grow their own organic food and all their food is guaraunteed to be safe, they have never had a recall, nor will they ever. They do get their lamb from Germany, their duck from New Zealand, and their fish from Argentina i believe, but all of those countries have very high standards for animals, better than the US! wellness doesnt make their own food in their own plants, neither does innova! eaglepack.com check them out, all my patients are on it, and its my number one seller at my store!!

what i like about this recall is people should be more knowledged about what goes into their pet food, anything at walmart or groceries stores is crap, purina, iams/euk, science diet, natural choice, chicken soup for the soul...are even low quality compared to holistic brands!!

Only buy the foods from a company that you know recalled. Don't buy something that was never recalled. That sounds strange, but it is the best advice. The FDA could not force them to recall. Some didn't. Just like the WM crap that they are taking off the shelves now. It was never recalled, but was tainted. There were 3 major companies that did not recall even though they knew their food was tainted. Purina did a partial recall of their alpo, but would not risk recalling any products with their namebrand on it. (Couldn't taint that sterling name.) The safest foods are the ones that either never had wheat in them or else the ones that were recalled and are now replaced.

Let me say, It's very very hard to "be careful" when any vet will tell you contaminated product is still on the shelves of some stores, and the warnings keep expanding. (The fda site includes a warning from about 2 or 3 days ago that adds rice protein to the list of contaminated ingredients; it no longer is only wheat gluten.) You have to feed your pet, and right now is a chancy time for all of us.

Nope. I dont live in America and my country has no problem with badly produced pet food. Your companies should check their standards.

And by the way, China mindlessly kills PEOPLE for no apparent reason.
