Am I the only one or are there more of you out there who just thought the Borat movie was crap?

It was hyped as being hilarious, but it was dull. I know the Americans like that kind of obvious stupid humour but that doesn't make it a great film.

Their are a couple of you who are trying to tell me it was a clever film, because it highlighted the ignorance of Americans. Don't insult mine and everyone else's intelligence, it was sh!t.

I was raised Catholic and now I am an atheist. I thought the church scene was hilarious. I do know people that believe the most absurd things related to religion. What I find most funny about Borat is that average Americans are too ignorant about the rest of the world. I live in South America and I enjoy watching cable. We do have satellite TV. I spend a lot of time on Internet. We do not live in mud huts. Only ignorant people cannot see through the outrageous arguments made about Kazakhastan. That is why it is so funny. Because the real people in it are so gullible.

When I saw a spoiler at the theatre, some of it seemed funny but rediculous. Close to or when the movie came out, I saw "Borat" on David Letterman, and another talk show. He did such a good job playing his character, I thought it was hilarious. After that I saw a few clips from the movie on MSN, and thought they were funny as well. I was pretty excited to see it.

But when I finally saw it, to my dissappointment, every scene I thought was funny were ones I'd already viewed. There wasn't a single scene outside of the spoilers that I found remotely as humorous. I enjoyed watching him on the talk shows more than in the film.

Yep and so is friends and I think that's crap. You don't like that type of humour...fair enough.
Personally I thought it was pretty funny. Not the funniest film I've ever seen but thought he did a better job of adapting the TV sketches into a full length film than I was expecting.

i haven't even seen the borat film and i can tell that it's rubbish. it just doesn't appeal to me. Ali G i can just about cope with but borat is just taking it too far in my opinion. i really don't see what so funny about i guy dressed as some other weird guy and then making fun of people who do actually come from Kazakhstan

Borat wasn't just about physical humour. It was about exposing the stupidity and ignorance of Americans who have never heard of anything outside of Texas.

Watch "Da Ali G Show". It's where the comedian who plays Borat (Sasha Baron Cohen, who is BRITISH, btw), exposes more ignorant people. It's hilarious.

it's not funny on an intellectual funny level like Monty Python is.

Borat is funny because he does all that crazy shitte that no one would think of doing in a normal situation.

There are more types of humor than just one. Borat is one the same level as Jackass.

i think of Borat is a bored little boy who basically have been given out of faculty for Christmas holiday. His mind is in no way progressed adequate to even call him an grownup. i pick Peace and sturdy Will on GWS for Christmas. EDIT @ kubebe: i desire you get that guitar!

Biggest load of rubbish that I've seen in a long time.

Mildly amusing for about 20 mins but then just becomes boring, crude, painfully stupid, and... well, predictable.

I went to the cinema full of expectation to see that bloody film. I want my money back!

I thought it was okay. It did have some funny bits in it but I didn't think it was as hilarious or shocking as it was made out to be and I thought some stuff just seemed really fake and set up.

For some, it was a hilarious film, exploiting the foible of those who were clueless.

For others, it was a cruel and vicious film, exploiting those who were actually trying to help.

I acknowledge both
