I’ve been a damn good friend to her, if I say so myself. I’m her only friend. She’s very interested in my life and current affairs, and asks the usual sort of weekly things, etc. However, when it’s my time to ask her how life is, etc, she clams up! For example, I ask her if she’s going to be working this Saturday and she’ll say, “We’ll see”. Also, once, she asked me what time I leave for work and naturally I told her. When I asked what time she leaves she said, “When I’m ready”. She went on holiday a few years ago, near the same place where I’m going next month, and I couldn’t remember where she went exactly and just wanted some holiday tips, etc. When I asked her if it was Cornwall, she said “No”. When I asked her if it was Somerset or Devon she replied, “No”. When I did ask her whereabouts it was, she said, “In between the three of those”. Am I mad to continue with her or is she the mad one?

Seems like this would be why you are her only friend. She obviously has a problem communicating with people. Ask her point blank WHY she always has to answer your questions with weird answers and not a direct answer.?? Explain to her that everytime she asks a question you honestly answer her, but when you ask her a simple question, it's like pulling teeth with her.
COMMUNICATION TRUST AND HONESTY are the keys to a healthy relationship..without those you have nothing.
If she still can't answer your questions....and is standoffish with you....I would back away from her for a while...try not to be so available to her....or if talking with her , play her lil 'game' of answering in a bizzare round about way* Soon she'll wise up and ask you WHY you're not answering her questions. What goes around comes around*

Yes, you are insane for even considering talking to her. I'm not sure how long you've been her only friend but you should've walked away from that friendship long ago. Is she your only friend as well? Why do you put yourself through all of that drama just to be someones only friend? Is it really worth your time and effort? I'd let her be a friend to herself because that's what she seems to be interested in. Stop telling her your business. If you feel that you have to answer her then give her the same treatment back. However do yourself a favor and leave you wacky doodle friend alone.

No wonder you're her only friend!

If it really bothers you, you should not feel obligated to be her friend. On the other hand, maybe you can tolerate and accept her despite her antisocial behaviour.

Either way, she has a problem that she could likely deal (maybe with professional help). First she has to realize she has a problem, maybe you could help her by gently confronting her about her irrational defensiveness once in a while.

Well if you ask me, i have a friends like yours. When i ask her to do something for me shes like,"NO." But when she asks me i do it. I guess i am just more generouse. To me your friend sounds rude, if she doesn't have any other friends than thats proablly because people can't stand her rudeness. I think you should comfrunt her about your situation, if she is negative talking to you then, What's the point of having her as a friend?!

lol. Sounds like someone has some passive-aggressive tendencies. I'd dump her ***. She'll come back after a short while and quit with the games.

Sounds like she's a bit nutty but people like her keep us on our toes and you can never have too many friends. Keep your friendship with her but tread lightly...you never know when she just might snap. At least it's never a dull moment with her, right?? Best of luck!
