I thought it was very well done, but then again I am a big fan of Jim Carrey

Joel Schumacher is a terrible director, he has the ability of taking what is a good story and messing it all up.

Phonebooth

Batman and Robin

Phantom of the Opera

Any other movie which he hired Kiefer Sutherland to appear in

And the number 23 is no exception, Carreys Performance is excellent! i am sold on the idea of Carrey being a serious actor now. But i cant help feeling that the choice in director was an error.

I was very disappointed. I looked forward to the movie, even though I don't like Jim Carey at all.
The only thing that I did like in the movie was Ned the dog.
I'm a thriller / suspence / horror movie and book buff and this particular movie was so filled with cliches and a half-drawn plot that it lost my interest somewhere in the first 30 minutes.

i thought it took a little while to get where it was going, but i actually liked it.

carrey and madsen (careerwise she was hot, then chilly, and now hot again--did she purposely take a break? she's everywhere now it seems--congrats to her!) were very believable which made the movie of interest to me.

i am actually looking forward to seeing it again on DVD or cable to see the clues given about the ending because i did not see it coming.

is it becoming a trend now that a movie's "star" does not necessarily have to be a hero? i just saw another film recently where the star we are supposed to sympathize with turns out to be the film's culprit. and i can think of one other where a big star turns out to be the bad guy--against his own little daughter! (at least in the ending that i saw--i hear DVD has more than one ending)

That movie disappeared faster than Paris Hilton's panties after a night of clubbing.

It didn't hang around long enough to make a judgment 9which may be the judgment itself)
