Baby has already started moving, you just can't feel it yet. Skinnier people seem to feel movement earlier that those of us with a little extra padding. I started feeling movement around 18 or 19 weeks, and my husband could feel it on my tummy at about 24 weeks. A lot of books say 16 weeks or so, but don't get freaked out if you haven't yet.

You're babies moving, it's just that the feeling isn't strong yet. I started to feel her at week 16 but most start to feel the baby between weeks 18 - 22.....it's hard to pin point the movement at 1st. I describe it as being tickled from the inside or like the feeling of a cat purring

Feeling those first, tiny sensations inside are a key landmark of your pregnancy. And when those movements become vigorous kicks, you know everything is going well.
If this is your first pregnancy, you may not even notice your baby moving around immediately because you won't be familiar with the sensation -- which many women describe as a gentle fluttering motion.
For a first pregnancy you will probably be aware of something at around 18 to 20 weeks. For subsequent pregnancies, when you know the tell-tale signs, first movements can be felt earlier, at around 15 to 18 weeks.

When you will feel the baby start moving is different for everyone. It can depend on a lot of things-the position of the placenta, your weight, whether this is your first baby... Anyway, I think you usually begin to feel your baby move sometime during the 2nd trimester, although the baby has been doing gymnastics inside of you for quite some time now! It feels like a fluttery feeling-it's pretty cool.

When my wife was pregnant with our first she asked her OB the exact same question. He said:
"The baby already is moving. The reason you don't feel it is because you don't know what it is. I can only tell you that the first sign of life is a fluttering accross your stomach, much like butterflies flying accross your face."
He also said if you have additional pregnancies you will feel it earlier and earlier.
I so badly wanted to use the old joke about baby moving:
Hopefully in about 19 years.

Most first time moms wont start to notice movement until around 20-22 weeks, if you've been pregnant before you will notice it sooner, cause you know what they feel like. Dont worry about not feeling any flutters until your 22 weeks, at which point I would let your ob/mw know.
