Braxton Hicks contractions can begin as early as the second trimester, however they are most common in the third trimester. The muscles of your uterus tighten for approximately 30 to 60 seconds or as long as 2 minutes. Braxton Hicks are also called “practice contractions” because they will prepare you for the real thing and you can practice the breathing exercises you are learning in your childbirth classes.
Braxton Hicks are described as:
Irregular in intensity
Infrequent
Unpredictable
Non-rhythmic
More uncomfortable than painful
They do not increase in intensity, or frequency
They taper off and then disappear altogether
If your contractions are easing up in any way, they are most likely Braxton Hicks.

I didn't have that happen until a little later I don't think, but it sounds like a braxton hicks contration (a practice contraction) your body has to practice before the big show other wise it wouldn't know what to do when it comes time. It doesn't sound like anything to worry about but you should mention it to your Doctor next time you go and if it gets painful or it tenses up frequently like more than a few times a day you should call them and see what they want you to do.

Its not a studid question at all!
You are a concerned mother to be!
I am not a qualified nurse yet! (still in uni) but i am a mother of two! and from what you say, i think that the baby is just in a position where maybe their back is pushing against your belly, causing you to feel the had and tense sensation. I dont feel that you have anything to be worried about and make the most of that walking while you feel great! Its the best trimester of your pregnancy so far! Make the most of that energy babe!
But if you feel worried or unsure, call your midwife or gp, they will be happy to offer help and advice to ease your mind.
Goodluck.

Defo Braxton Hicks, in prep for labour, I have been having them from bout 19 weeks, sometimes they are really painful and uncomfortable. I'm going to speak to my midwife in a couple of weeks just to check it out, I would say if your worried then do the same - thats what they are there for!!!
Good luck x

It sounds to me like a "braxton hicks" contraction, normal contracting of the uteris... I would call your doctor though, if it gets any more often or if it becomes painful... It could be a symptom of early labor...
Is there any way you can cut down on some of the walking?? If it's only during activity, then it might not hurt to cut down the activity.
"braxton hicks" are not in and of themselves dangerous, they help the uteris tone and get ready for birth... BUT... better safe than sorry. Talk to your Doctor!

its braxton hicks can come at any time but normally not just when walking you are at the time when it will start happening and they will get stronger where they start hurting and you will probably get period like cramps with them and they can hurt i am 36 weeks along and i am either having braxton hicks or contractions and they do hurt sometimes and get more tense

Your stomache is supposed to get hard. You could also be experiencing Braxton Hicks. I started my Braxton Hicks in my 4th month. I wouldn't worry about it, but if you are concerned see your doctor.

I'm not for sure either, but it seems like the baby is turning to the outside so your belly firms up, Its back is to the outside. Other times I have a soft belly and feel more kicks and punches.
