yes but only to a point, I rely on other things like how honest they are

It is said somewhere that you can judge a man somewhat by the friends he keeps....but at the same time, friendships are only as strong as their members.

Sometimes, yes. Their current friendships help me get a sense of how they might treat me as a friend.

You shouldn't go around judging or criticizing anyone anyways but yeah, I guess people tend to do that, don't they?

I guess I don't, or at least I don't really think about that sort of stuff anymore.

It probably was more prevalent in my younger years...

Nope, I've usually pretty much ascertained whether or not they are passionate, courageous and honest long before they've even spoken more than a few words to me. Those are my markers on a persons spirit.............:0)

we have an expression that sounds like this: tell me who your friends are so I can tell you who YOU are. it's a bit exaggerated, but you can tell a lot about a person by judging their entourage.
