For a start there are many types of gallons:
Eg. U.S. liquid gallon, U.S. dry gallon and Imperial (UK) gallon.
U.S. liquid gallon is legally defined as 231 cubic inches, and is equal to 3.785411784 liters (exactly) or about 0.13368 cubic feet. This is the most common definition of a gallon. The U.S. fluid ounce is defined as 1/128 of a U.S. gallon.
U.S. dry gallon is one-eighth of a U.S. Winchester bushel of 2150.42 cubic inches, thus 268.8025 cubic inches (exactly) or 4.40488377086 liters (exactly) .
Imperial (UK) gallon is legally defined as 4.54609 litres (~277.42 cu in), which is about 1.2 U.S. liquid gallons. This definition is used in the United Kingdom, and is based on the volume of 10 pounds of water at 62 °F. (A U.S. liquid gallon weighs about 8.33 pounds at the same temperature.) The Imperial fluid ounce is defined as 1/160 of an Imperial gallon.
SO, 250 litres equals to 66.043013717618969042202063774015 U.S. liquid gallons.
And, 250 litres equals to 56.755186516803493227143424904639 U.S. dry gallons.
Lastly, 250 litres equals to 54.992312074771946881825920736281 Imperial gallons.

Oscars do well if given about 30 gallons each, so that's plenty of room for two. Make sure you have good filters as Oscars are messy fish and if you get behind on regular 25% water changes the tank can go foul quickly. Make sure the oscars are the same size as well. Oscars have bigger mouths than you think and will devour things even just a tiny bit smaller than they are.
