these lawyers were fired when they were in the middle of investigations. THAT is why there is great controversey over the firings. By the way this isn't a republican /democrat issue. You have congress on both sides fighting against this mishap. This runs much deeper than the firings of these lawyers.

The US Attorneys serve at the pleasure of the president is true, but that does not give them permission to do so for partician or political purposes. Because the belief of Justice being blind to race color party creed or class, this is the law to which the Attorney General and Karl Rove who wanted to stack the Attorney's office with political and partician attorneys.
There is the wrong, and most of them claim to know the laws and are lawyers so they know when they have bee wrongly fired.

Democrats say it was wrong to fire attorneys who were in the midsts of investigations. When Clinton fired 93 attorneys at the beginning of his first term, it is difficult to believe that all 93 attorney had nothing on their plate at the time.

But if the lawyer is doing some thing wrong, or if the funds simply are not thier then some one of upper hand has enforce "whats next".

It's not a normal situation but happens.

These firings are ONLY being brought up to further serve the ambitions of a particular political party.

You are correct. They were employed "at will" and could be fired for any reason. Clinton fired 96 attorneys in his day. This is just another waste of our time & money.

You are 100% correct but you forgot one little fact.

The attorneys clitoon fired were investigating him, his wife and his associates including cabinet members. Now that one stinks to high heaven.
