They think there are liberals behind everything. Anytime the facts don't come their way, they accuse them of a liberal bias.
It has become so bad they won't even believe scientific organizations like the National Academy of Science or government organizations like the Treasury Department, much less the "liberal media", the "activist judges", the professors, teachers, academia, polling companes, and mainstream historians and economists.
I can cite all the well established engaged in geologic, climatic, and meteorologic research and how they have offical statements in support of man made global warming.

What will cons do? They will accuse them of being liars and socialists who want to destroy capitalism, OR that they are liars and capitalists just looking for the global warming money.

I can cite the Census, Bureau of Economic Analyses, Treasury Department, Department of Labor, and even the White House on how the economy does much better under Keynesian Democrats then under supply side Republicans.

What will cons do? They'll say they don't trust anything from the government OR that that statistics mean absolutely nothing.

Your "question" is political diatribe. I think your opinions are "hogwash." I am a conservative. I don't believe in conspiracy theories. I am smart enough to avoid relying on government info, especially statistics. From President Harry Truman, I learned the saying: "There are lies, damn, lies and statistics." Consider the famous "45 million Americans without health care." Rodger Hedgecock, former lawyer, former mayor of San Diego, now talk show host examined that stat. Of the 45 million, about 25 million are counted as uninsured...even if they only went one day in a year without a formal health insurance plan or policy. About 7 million are eligible for some form of government program or assistance...and they don't apply for it!!!!!!!!!!! Rich people, those with millions in income or assets don't need to buy health insurance, but they are counted as uninsured. Does that make sense to you?
The sun causes global warming. It has done so for billions of years. If there is "consensus" it is not science.
Conservatives know and understand liberals. They want government to run everything and they want to run the government. That is not a conspiracy theory. It is science. Just ask any conservative. You will get a "consensus."

The NAS is not the arbiter of truth. They are just another organization trying to carry out their mission without being politicized. The finest in medical science once taught to use leeches to cure disease. Is science always so perfect in your mind? (especially after its been politicized?)
Its pretty tough to deny the liberal bias in the media and academia. But I dont blame the average drone that tunes into them for 20 mins a day to have a worldview perspective. The media at times can be very blatant but most of the time they try to conceal and cloak what they are. They pretend to be the arbiters of truth and anybody who has a differing philosophy is just a nutjob that shouldnt have a voice.
People are welcome to their theories on global warming. Hold your rallies, talk about how evil America is, but dont sit there and try to raise my taxes or hit businesses with taxes. If manmade global warming is happening, study after study is now revealing there would be nothing we can do about it. I mean if Al Gore isnt willing to ride bikes and become a vegan, the one who truly believes the crock, then who else would be?

Sorry bud. Read Yahoo Answers a bit more. 90% of the wack job theories arround here are from the left side of the fence.
As for global warming? We have more polution controls today than at the height of the industral revolution. Cars get more MPG than even 25 years ago. And on depsite all the crying about global warming, I had Snow on Monday..... Not all geologic, climatic, and meteorologic researchers are in support of man made global warming. A single volcano can produce more effects on climate than all man has in the last 100.

Right now I am upset with both parties. The cons come up with ideas to let the American people help themselves but the Dem's say only the government can do it.the government has been helping since the 40s & it has not worked. What happened to johnsons GREART Society. Have we got rid of the poor? We have spent BILLIONS on the poor &they are still with us.This is not working so lets try something new that might work. The dems complaine but the only idears they have is throw good money after bad at a program that has proven not to work. The cons are not much better.they fall over backwards for BIG business but not for the small ones. Both parties are just for themself not the adverage american.

How about all those Vince Foster theories? There's one going around about every friend of Hillary's hairdresser or anyone else that happened to die, in the last ten years and had even a remote connection to the Clinton's; the death was somehow "unexplained" or "under mysterious circumstances". And then there is that ever pervasive liberal media conspiracy. What a bunch of paranoid delusional people!

Well congratulations on your amazing ability to link.
False Flag operations, Big Oil, 9/11, our intentions in the Mid-East...these aren't conspiratorial? And if you want to pick sides, we know who's holding those beliefs.
On top of that, with Global Warming, it's not that no one believes it, it's just that it's still theoretical, and despite all attempts to stifle them, scientists are coming out with new findings that oppose some of the previous ones, i.e. man's contribution to CO2 levels. It's not like 'conservatives' are out there and fighting this only because they want to burn oil for the rest of their lives (although I'm sure you disagree). Regardless, GW and it's causes are not black and white issues right now...there are still grey areas, which automatically disqualifies it from scientific fact for the time being.
You see the political impact of global warming, and how much of a hot button issue it's become as well. It's already made it into classrooms, work environments and even law without coming to a conclusive understanding of what we're dealing with. People like Al Gore are out there hocking their "carbon credits" and playing to the masses like they're going to save the world. How does money fix the environment? Then they act like planting a seedling in the Northwest is going to cancel out their private jet's emmissions? Come on now. I haven't seen Karl Rove out there wailing to the masses that he can fix the environment, "if you would just donate more money..." So where do you see liars reaching for money here? Which one's the borderline criminal in this instance?
And you know what? Capitalism is about the best thing that can happen to global warming. It's called supply and demand Rockstar, and if you'd pay attention, you'd notice that everyone is turning to a greener side WITHOUT the government sticking their nose into their affairs...Hybrids, solar energy, wind farms, Hybrids, little green labels on everything. And I've said it before, but, it wasn't a new tax that created the industrial revolution...it was capitalism.
What's more is that taxes will be inevitable with the wrong, misinformed people in charge. Carbon taxes, tree taxes, driving taxes, higher gas taxes, etc. You can call it overreacting for now, but I'm pretty sure that we're all familiar with what our government is known for...mis-handling money and taxing anything they can in order to make a buck.
The tie-in to liberals here is that typically, they support tax increases blindly, no matter what. They cannot trust the government for anything else (see first paragraph) but somehow still think they're fit to handle even MORE money. And for what? If someone is truly interested in making a positive impact on the environment, they can do it 10x faster and better than the government can through tax dollars. Those couple of thousand we'd have to drop are going to get cut up so many times that only a few cents will truly be dedicated to the intended purpose of solving environmental crisis.
Finally...don't be such a hack. It's obvious that--at it's core-- Global Warming and whatever it's scientific conclusions become is an issue that will affect EVERYONE, not just conservatives or liberals. THAT in and of itself is one of the biggest problems right now...the politicization of what could be a disastrous environmental issue, but here we are, just trying to see who can steal more votes by making the most baseless and off-the-wall claims about what GW is and how they alone intend to fix it. My personal favorite part of all of it is when people start to quote agencies like Exxon, the DoD, George Bush himself even, and hold them all up as authorities (I know you have others as well) even though, 2 or 3 years ago, these were all the bane of every democrats existance (and still are).
If you really give a damn, fix it yourself. Don't count on the government, Al Gore, John Stewart or anyone else. You don't need millions of dollars, new taxes and restrictive laws to help the environment out. By going this route, you expose yourself as a political hack, and not someone truly concerned with the planet's health, but more about being right, and picking the right team every 4 years.

The problem is not whether conservatives believe in whatever kind of theories. From my viewpoint, I tend not to believe most of the products of a liberal education regardless of the post they currently occupy from the white house through the educational halls into the scientific community. It has to do with the end game of the research or field they are in. you can make statistics say anything you desire and most of the people expounding ideas for or against almost anything have an agenda. One of my favorite examples of this is the stem cell debate. You will find very few people in the scientific community (or industry) who want to do stem cell research on their own nickel. The argument is all about funding for stem cell research. If it works – invest your own money in it and patent it and recoup your money. Industry for the most part wont invest their money in research and most researchers want government money to “further their own studies”.
Again I don’t believe there is a conspiracy – I believe that these people are intellectually dishonest for their own gain at my expense. If it doesn’t cost me anything and the free market will support it – I’ll listen to your argument.
"I was provided with additional input that was radically different from the truth. I assisted in furthering that version."

Its obviously because liberals never lie. Bill clinton after all did not have sexual relations with that woman. Oh wait. oh yea and all the democrats were opposed to the war yet most of them voted for it. Hmm maybe its because liberal lie so often that they destroy their credibility. Just a thought. But no you must be right All conservatives are conspiracy theorists thats the real answer. That seems reasonable.
