Bernard Goldberg's new book 'Crazies to the Left of Me-Wimps To The Right' says that Liberals suffer from FDS .
Fox Derangement Syndrome !!

Now don't blame me.. . .I'm just quoting one of your Former buddies .
He says that when he polled Liberals for his book research, he found that many Liberals just cringe and go bazonkers when asked about their opinions about FoxNews . Most interesting was when he then asked them if they watch it.. . . and most don't . So , he ponders, just how the heck can they claim to be informed when they don't even watch it ? He goes on to say that whenever he watches FoxNews , and if a political topic is being discussed, he sees a Conservative and a Liberal involved in the discussion . But Liberals only see a Conservative . Hmmmmmm.. . . .isn't that what we've been telling the Liberals on here ?
He goes on to say that he left the Left, after they began their turn to anger and hatred . Hmmmmm. . .. . isn't that what we've been telling the Liberals on here ?

Love Goldberg's books-can't wait til this one is released. I love the fact that he is criticizing both sides. Just from the title I agree with him completely - the far left has gone crazy and they do foam at the mouth when you mention Fox News. Seeing an opposing viewpoint does seem to drive them mad--and he is soooooo dead on that the right is wimping out instead of standing up for their principles! Bush leads the pack here. He needs to prosecute those who've leaked National Security issues to the NYT's and pardon Scooter Libby. He also needs to get his chicken-butt up before the people and say, "I fired the US attorneys BECAUSE AS PRESIDENT--THEY SERVE AT MY PLEASURE--they did not please ME." WTF is he letting the Dems make a big deal of this and waste our time with endless hearings. It is his right as POTUS to fire them!
Thanks for the rant Earnest--BTW emailed you again--did you get it?

Bernie Goldberg has shown himself to be quite wise, I'm glad to say, and his attitudes are aligned with mine on many issues. He also has a "bite" to his rhetoric; he knows how to make a point and make it stick.

You didn't ask, but here's my view in brief regarding the 24 hour TV news outlets:

CNN - Clearly left-leaning, but still acceptable. I like Dobbs best. Judy Woodruff didn't have to cry on the air when Sen. Kerry lost to President Bush in 2004 for me to know they're left-leaners at CNN. Turner and Blitzer do a good enough job by themselves in proving they have far left perspectives.

MSNBC - Since they made Olbermann their first prime time anchor, their leanings are quite clear. They're so far to the left, I think they're PAST the fringe and have fallen off the edge. Olbermann is so far out there, he makes Phil Donohue seem like a right-wing conservative. Olbermann is contemptible. One might counter by asking whether I think O'Reilly is any better? O'Reilly boxes without gloves, sometimes, and can get way down and dirty, but only when necessary and only when his guest is going out of his way to be an ***, such as by saying that pedophilia should not be illegal. Olbermann, on the other hand, seems to be rude to his core. I can't watch him for more than two minutes. I try once in a while, just to see if there's any point in watching him, but he soon makes me feel angry and ill. Since MSNBC recently renewed Olbermann, I have a tendency to put them in my Julius and Ethel Rosenberg category.

Fox - Where I come from, their commentators, who some would label as right-wingers, are fairly close to the middle, in my view. Most, but not all, of the Lefties they've selected to help balance the discussion, are not too, too far to the left, thank goodness. However, there are a couple — Neal Gabler and Ellis Henican — who might be happier at MSNBC, I think.

Getting back to Bernard Goldberg ... I like him. And Jane Hall, who often appears with him on The Factor, is a reasonable voice from the left.

Just my humble opinion.

P.S.: Sorry to have gone so far off-topic. Your question got me a little wound-up.

I think it is pretty silly that he is talking about the left turning to anger and hatred, as we don't have the likes of Hannity and Rush spouting false rhetoric about conservatives. Honestly, most liberals seem calmer than conservatives. I don't see any liberals on here talking about the other side undermining the troops or destroying America. I don't have a problem with Fox News. It is their right to say whatever they want. There are crazy people on both sides of the aisle though.

Yes, he is right. I do watch Fox on occasion and I certainly don't see why the libs are so anti-Fox. I cannot stand O'Reily, so I don't watch the condescending man. What is so hard about changing the channel or reading a book instead?
