No, no one says this here. If you think so, perhaps you need to take a break from Yahoo Answers.

I live outside the US for six to eight months a year and I will tell you definitively, they love AMericans, there way of life and their economic strength. That last one is probably the key to the lies you hear, our economic strength is based on strong capitalistic efforts, which of course is the antithesis of SOCIALISM, and I believe if you research, all of those who say these things are SOCIALISTS.
Now if you want to talk about institutional corruption, while I will certainly say our CONGRESS is corrupt, the rest of the government are mostly just humans trying to keep a job and do what they believe is the right thing. The other countries I stay in, the longer I stay the more I learn about the institutional corruption, that starts at the top of the government and has permeated down to the lowest levels of society.
One country I visit is known through out the world as the capital of drug money laundering. The top people in the government own most of the businesses and stifle any competition, they are mostly related, like one big mafia family. Of late that relatively petty corruption has taken a big leap, one of the family hired a hit man to kill a UK man who had dissed him in public, all the people in the small country know who hired the hit and all say it is okay. Now this country is one of the slimiest and corrupt that I have been to.
The US is the crown jewel folks but to admit it requires you to admit that capitalism works and socialism fails.

People love America as in the wide opens spaces. There is lots of room. There are lots of different climates to choose from. Its not expensive to live. There are lots of opportunities. People LOVE our country. They don't like our GOVERNMENT. These are 2 totally different things. I think this is the big thing here. Another point of view might be right too. Suppose you have a neighbor that has more money than you and is always 1 uping you. You buy a new car and he has a much better car. He has a bigger house, a boat, a pool, etc. You start to just not like the guy. That might be the case with some countries. The have nots always have disdain for the haves.

Oh give up our country to Islam like Germany and the UK are?
Yes if you listen to liberals, America is nothing but a greedy juggernaut that is doing nothing but bullying the world militarily, uncontrollably polluting and destroying the planet with our lifestyle, and taking away prosperity from other countries because we're so successful.
My response; is what country doesnt look after their own interests militarily? Given our strict environmental laws, how are WE destroying the planet? Global warming? plz. How can being successful put other countries under? Have we been looting other countries for 200 years? Maybe if they had what we have had for 200 years, like i dont know, capitalism, free speech, freedom of religion, an industrial revolution, maybe people would want to stay and succeed.

No, we are not. For all it's short comings, it is still the place most people would want to go if given the chance. It is still the land of opportunity.
America is not so good it can't be made better, but it is still one of the best countries in the world. The few countries that may be considered "better" are not accepting immigrants with a path to full citizenship.

Yeh you've nailed it alright. Why should America exist with all of the good it has tried to do in its history. NO OTHER country has been or would've helped the rest of the world like we have but hey it's an EVIL thing right? So sayeth the libs.

Only if you are a lib. My brother-in-law had a bumper sticker on his car: There are Liberals and then there are Americans.
I like the Dark Ages quote, chilling when you think about it.
