Should be relatively easy, most motherboards will cater for two RAM chips at least so you can upgrade to 2 * 1GB RAM's, the chances are though you will have 2 * 512 chips installed and will need to replace both.

Memory can be easily upgraded but you need to get the right kind for your PC.
My tip is to go to the Crucial web site, which has a special tool to scan your PC and tell you what kind you need. Even if you don't buy the RAM from Crucial, you can still make a note of what is required and by it elsewhere, although Crucial prices are pretty reasonable.

When you receive your RAM chips they are kept in protective packaging and you'll need to handle them with care, because they can be damaged by static electricity. Always ground yourself by touching an earthed object such as a radiator before handling the chips.
You'll need to open your PC in order to insert the RAM. If you aren't confident doing this then you could ask someone you know or pay someone to do this. It's actually quite easy to do. Obviously you'll need to unplug from the mains before you open the PC.
You'll see one or two white slots into which the RAM chips will go. These are located on the main board inside the PC.
Carefully slot the RAM chips into these slots and that they are locked in place.
Close up your computer and then turn it on. Your computer should recognise immediately it has more RAM and then adjust automatically. In rare cases it is necessary to make the adjustment manually.
I hope this answers your question. If you found my answer useful, then please remember to rate it.

Go to the following link, http://www.crucial.com/uk they can do an on line check which will determine which ram your motherboard supports. They will recommend the optimum amount. You can order on line and although they are not the cheapest it is worth paying for good ram. They guarantee compatibility with your motherboard and give an excellent warranty. I have used them many times and always been satisfied. Hope this helps.

YES!
Better do it NOW while RAM is cheap. Just make sure you unplug your PC when you do the installation. In case your PC won't boot afterwards and it gives continuous beeps, turn it off then reseat the RAM modules. If still nothing happens, interchange the RAM modules in their slots. This last procedure worked for me on my laptop and my two desktops.
