Your boss can rightfully "ding" you for not attending the mandatory meeting, especially if you work for a corporation. Lack of sleep the night before is not an excuse uless your mother has suddenly been dx'd with cancer and even that is suspect as it's number four on the hit parade of acceptable excuses. Might be better to reveal your supervisor passed out earlier at the same bar which caused your delay in reporting for duty as you waited all night for the cab to take him safely home to arrive. At least you are at work is only temporary, especially in NV and AZ, two notorious states for hire at will and fire at will (btw, Will is getting tired of being the target). Unless you are sleeping with your boss or covering for someone else who is, try www.Monster.com and search for employment alternantives.
