question about toilets?

If someone says that you can't flush anything except toilet paper down their toilet because it is a septic system does this make sense?
Also what would you flush down a toilet apart from toilet paper anyway?

Well I used to work in A store and people would try flushing all kinds of stuff down the toilet like kids underwear and diapers some people just don`t respect things that are not theirs.

You would not believe what some people puit down the toilets. A septic system needs to be pumped from time to time. Its a disaster waiting to happen with foreign objects in the tank below the ground.

Some people flush some stupid stuff down toilets, like paper towels. But people also flush things like tampons, which should be flushed. And they attempt to flush maxipads, which shouldn't be flushed.

I had to add (two days later) that I saw a sign in a bathroom at the mall today asking people not to flush DIAPERS! Yeah, Ewe.

Toilet tissue breaks down into smaller components to flow thru the pipes,but I've seen at work how some geniuses try flushing the paper towels after they wash their hands. THOSE don't break down in the water. They just clog it up.

I guess, maybe tampons? I understand what you are saying though, my dad was like that. We had to get our whole septic tank replaced when I was a kid and it was a huge ordeal.

Having worked maintenance at a women's spa, I know what kind of things some women try to flush, and believe me, they aren't sanitary!
