The passover was to commerate the jews being delivered from eygpt, they put lambs blood on the doorposts so th angel of death passed over (passover) Jesus being a jew also celebrated this, however on his final passover the evening befre he died he commanded his followers to remember his death on the date, the passover would not need to be remembered anymore for christians incl. jewish christians because jesus at his death became the new means of salvation

Observing the Passover (or Pesach in Hebrew) has got nothing to do with the belief of Jesus. This special occasion is for praise and thanksgiving to G-d.

Jews commemorate the time when the Israelites were led out of Egypt by Moses (this marked the beginning of a Jewish nation). During the Passover, Jewish families gather to eat a celebratory meal called a seder (they also have no leavened food in the house during the Passover), recount the story of the enslavement and the Exodus of the people of Israel from Egypt (through the words of the Haggadah) and sing songs of praise to G-d.

Passover is when the Angel of Death went thru Egypt to kill all the first born. Moses and his friends had put lambs blood on the doors in order for the Angel to "pass them over". It is a Jewish holiday... which is why Jesus and the Apostles were observing it. And it's why the Jews still observe it.

Presumably you are a Christian, so it's interesting that you do not seem to have read the bible.

The Jewish Passover is in commemoration of the exodus from Egypt, as recounted in the bible book called (surprisingly) Exodus. The specific event remembers the night that the Angel of Death "passed over" the Jewish homes while slaying the first-born of the Egyptian houses.

It has nothing to do with Jesus at all - Messiah or not.

Passover is a Jewish commemoration of the Biblical story of the escape of the Jews from Egypt. Its origins were long before the 1st century CE.

Before the Israelis left Egypt the Egyptians were 'visited' by many plagues. God told Moses that the angel of death would visit all the houses in Egypt and that he should tell the Israelites to smear their house doors with the blood of a sacrificed lamb. Then the angel of death would 'pass over' those houses.

Nothing to do with Christianity.

Passover stems from when the Jews were in bondage to Egypt (see Exodus 12:21-39).

I am not a Christian but as far as I remember from Sunday School the passover is old testament and therefore way before Jesus time.

The Passover is commanded in the Hebrew Bible.
It recalls events that happened about 1,300 years before the time of Jesus, and almost 2,000 years before the birth of Islam.
