My gf used to talk too much, then, one day I introduced her to another gal from my building, who is a bigger chatterbox and a highly reputed one. After the first encounter, she returned, wiping her sweat, she said, 'O my god, this woman, she can't keep her mouth shut, even for a minute.' But from that day she has become a changed girl, she talks somewhat less. Maybe u should try something like this.

If she keeps her everlasting chatter up at the workplace, simply say, firmly but politely: "Excuse me, Sally, but I really have to get this work out of the way now. Wish I had time to chat with you, but you understand."

Be a good listener- out of all the many words she says, at least one has some constructive meaning/advice.

Say," I'm soo sorry but I really need to concentrate." After a couple of times, she'll get the point.

Just tell her that you are trying to work and she is breaking your concentration. Tell her that you have a one track mind and if anyone talks while you are working you will make mistakes.

It's probably better you don't. If she becomes a mostly silent person, you'll have no idea what she's thinking of next.
