hes 14 and shes 15...and he really likes her...but she doesn't know cos hes a year younger and people might be mean.

In my experience it's not a good idea. Remember males mature slower than girls.

Ok ,, first of all you ppl have to stop thinking age has anything with maturity in a relationship. im talking from experiance and i have dated women 8 even 10 years older then me,,, quite odd huh ? well why ? well they like the way i treat them which is without having to put up a front and being direct with them,, see when the guy is a little young he wont be affraid to tell the honest answer without worrying about wheter or not she will be hurt by the truth, anyway a younger person makes you feel young, and stay matured,,,,, I am lucky to have dated older women then i am,, i know a lot about women from there and its a big help now because i know what is a women in my age group is growing thru..... just one piece of advice, just because he is younger it doesnt mean whatever he tells you should be taken lightly,, whenever someone tells you something in a relationship then he or she is meaning well for you, so keep an open mind and let the age go away

Yeah, they could date.
But she'd probably wind up disappointed. Even a 15 year old guy lacks maturity compared to a girl the same age. Going younger just gets worse.

And now my boyfriend is 4 1/2 years younger, but we are over 60.

I have never dated a woman that is less than two years older than I am. A year isn't that long unless its the difference between one and two years of age. Then its twice the previous age.... So... yeah, its cool.

if he's like 11 or 12 and she's a year older, that's pretty tought
if they're like 17 or older it's pretty much OK if he's mature

yes ofcause, that aint a huge age difference. more likely that they will share the same interest etc.
some men are more mature than u think...try it and see if u like HIM, forget the age factor.
