I am amost certain that one of my oldest friends is having an affair. The problem is, however, that I am not overly fond of his current partner and this "new" girl is so much better suited to him.
Where current girl is rude and obnoxious to all his friends and generally socially inept; new girl is sweet and charming and gets along with everyone.
Should I give my blessing to this "potential" affair to the new lady - as I think it would be good for both of them - or am I morally obliged to hold my tongue, despite the fact that I, and the rest of our circle of friends. strongly dislike his current girlfriend?

If he is having an affair, then that's his issue to sort out. But, if you tell him what you think of the current girlfriend (politely of course) then that may kick him into action in dealing with it and making up his own mind if he wants to leave her for the new one or not.
But what ever his decision is, you, as his mate, need to accept it and support him.

He is probably having the affair because he is tired of the rude first one, so hold your tongue and keep your fingers crossed

Is it any of your business, really? I mean, they're not married. So, is it really an "affair"?
I would let things take their course. Perhaps it will be for the best in the end.

Personally I feel that your friend should know what he is doing. My advice is that you shouldn't interfere in his relationship problem as other who don't know the situation well will think you separated a loving couples

This is none of your business unless your friend asks for your input-sorry, you are not in control of other people's love lives. If you are a true friend you will care for and support him in whatever decision he makes.

This one is a tough one. In my personal opinion, I say you confront. It is wrong for someone to cheat no matter how bad the relationship is. If it is that bad, then end the relationship. Tell your friend how you feel and give him your advice.
Good luck!

If I were you, I would keep quiet about it and hope he settles down with the new girl.

Say nothing unless he asks you for your opinion. Your friendship may depend on it. He may resent you if you say something negative over his choice of girlfriend.
